You may not be aware, but a lot of the books that are published on Audible.com are actually read and produced by free-lancers at ACX.com. Earlier this year I decided to give it a try. Now, several months later, my first audio book, narrated by me, has been published.
It is titled “America’s Romance with the English Garden”. It is a non-fiction book about how seed and nursery catalogs in 19th America influenced the types of gardens and lawns that we have in America. As you might have guessed, the English Garden won out.
The book itself is very well-written and extremely interesting.
If you click on the book image, you’ll go to the Audible website, where you can listen to a five-minute excerpt from the book.
And yes, the last name of the author who wrote the book is my first name.
This has been a labor of love, sweat, and tears. One of the many lesson’s learned from completing this project is that reading books for a living is much harder than you think it would be. Over the next few weeks I plan to release some blog posts, outlining how I got started, tools I’ve been using, and different lesson’s learned. I’ll also have some free codes to give away to some lucky readers.
