Azure Devops Tip #1 – Show Release Pipeline Status In Your Team Dashboard

Azure Devops dashboards are really cool. Each team you create in Azure DevOps can have their own dashboard. You can access the dashboard by selecting Overview | Dashboards, and then changing to your team using the drop down at the top of the page.

I want to show my release pipeline status on this dashboard.  To do this, click the Edit button at the top of the dashboard. This puts the dashboard into “edit” mode, and opens the Add Widget window. Select the Release Pipeline Overview widget, and drag it to where you want it on the dashboard.

This adds a blank Release Pipeline Overview widget to the screen, that needs to be configured. To configure it, click the Settings button on the widget.

In the Configuration window, select the size you want for the widget, and select the release pipeline you want to display.  Then click the Save button.

Finally, click the Done Editing button to take the dashboard out of editing mode.

So from here I can see the status, for this release pipeline, of the different stages, as well as the release history of this release.
